We are the Party Parents

We are Hans and Lacey Norstrand, ski enthusiasts, sailors, bartender and chef. Hans moved to Bozeman in 1993 and met Lacey in 2005; we were married in 2009 at Cliff and Wade Lake. We have three children: our eldest has a family of her own, while the younger two are teenagers. Lacey is pursuing a Master’s in Innovation and Business Management, and Hans bartends at a popular watering hole. We started this endeavor because we realize how difficult and expensive life in Bozeman can be, and we believe we can help folks discover the more unique and overlooked options available outside of pricey venues and caterers, leveraging decades of knowledge, friendships, and connections in the area. We have been throwing epic parties for years. Hans’ 40th birthday featured Pinky and the Floyd at the Filling Station, while Lacey’s father’s 75th birthday was an elegant afternoon affair at a country club and my sons sledding party at Dino park with hot cocoa, capes, solo stove with smores and more was magical.

In 2010, we launched a grocery delivery business catering to busy families and vacationers, years before grocery delivery and online ordering became mainstream. Five years later, an early midlife crisis, inspired by the fear of years slipping away in the daily monotony of life, led us to sell the business and buy a sailboat. Renting out our duplex for income, we embarked on what was intended to be a year or two of adventure, which quickly transformed into seven years. We spent the pandemic in the San Blas Islands, an isolated autonomous region in eastern Panama. The logistics of sourcing food and fresh water were daunting, yet ensuring that the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus arrived, along with celebrating birthdays, was a phenomenal achievement realized through immense creativity, planning, and community involvement. We can turn any celebration, regardless of budget, into a memorable event.

Returning to Bozeman in 2023, our two younger children enrolled in middle school for their very first formal education, while Lacey began her undergraduate studies in Spanish and Latin American Studies at MSU. This journey fulfills her dream of earning a college degree, fueled by a passion ignited during our time in Central America and a strong desire to give back to the Caribbean regions that have given us so much.
